Their Bravery and Heroism

Image
The Fall of Bataan is now remembered as a tragic story. However, unlike The Shining or American Psycho, this is not a story based on a novel. It is a tragedy that will live on in the collective memory of our history. The Araw ng Kagitingan, or Day of Valour, honors Filipino and American soldiers who fought Japanese forces during World War II. The ability or right to act, talk, or think as one wishes without hindrance or restriction, freedom. It has the ability to keep us alive in the life we most want. It represents a new vision of not giving up and continuing to pursue the dream of sustainability and optimism. Many Filipinos laid down their lives for the liberation of our nation and its people, seventy-nine years ago. The country has seen a tragic loss of many lives, widespread property damage, a pause in economic development, and a conflict that has robbed children of the opportunity to grow up in a peaceful environment. They bravely faced danger and fear in the name of allowing us t...

Women Empowerment for Better Environment

Image
Women's empowerment refers to giving women the ability to make decisions for themselves. Women have endured a huge amount at the hands of men over the years. They were classified as if they didn't exist in ancient times. As if all rights, including the right to vote, belonged to men. Women became more aware of their influence as time passed. The revolution for women's empowerment started there. Women have always fought for their freedom, fair rights, and equality since the dawn of creation. Gender stereotypes are so impervious that it takes years for them to be gradually eradicated from our culture. It still exists today, but there has been a significant change in how people perceive a woman's actions. Being a woman is challenging enough without having to contend with misogynists on a regular basis or hearing offensive comments if anyone attempts to speak up for themselves. Women are not objects, we weren't created for the pleasures and desires of others. Women face...

Undying Faith

Lent has traditionally been a time to reflect on Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, to fast, and to make some necessary changes in one's life. It was also a time to do good deeds in the world and bring healing and hope. The forty days leading up to Easter reflect Jesus' time in the desert before his crucifixion. It can also be a time to live and prepare, in addition to going deeper inside. Also, a time to live and preach hope, particularly in times of darkness and despair, as many people do in our time. The great love God has for us at all times, particularly through the creation, pain, death, and resurrection of Jesus for our redemption, is the foundation of our hope. Authorities have assured that the celebration of Lenten Season this year will continue despite the COVID-19 virus still emerging and a continuous rise in the number of cases, but that safety measures will be implemented to ensure the people's safety and well-being. Face masks and face shields are nee...

Endured 2.0

Another quarter has ended, and new knowledge has been gained once again. This quarter's theme was a lot of fun, but it was also a great deal of work, specifically with all the rules and tags to remember. In addition, we continued to publish blogs during the quarter. I have to confess that seeing how long we've been doing this is both entertaining and satisfying. Everything has become much more difficult, especially now that face-to-face classes are no longer available or recommended, despite the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. There may have been some complexities in learning some lessons and in developing our blogs, but those lessons were easily understood thanks to technology, the internet, and a little research. I must admit, I'm still dealing with the issues I had during the previous grading time. I'm also having trouble understanding some lessons and topics in some subjects, which makes achieving assignments on time more difficult. It was a good thing that Internet i...

Valentine's Day is depicted as a day for lovers in the media as well. On the other hand, Valentine's Day has a much wider appeal. It's a day to celebrate love, and that love can be for anyone, not just a lover.  Valentine's Day is primarily thought of as an annual celebration honoring the emotion of love. The day has greater significance than just being a day for lovers. It is a day to share and show our love to anyone and everyone. We also struggle to express our affection for our parents. As a result, the day is an opportunity to share our love for our parents, family members, and close friends. Nevertheless, Valen...
